Influence of Non-Uniform Bluntness on Aerodynamic Performance and Aerothermal Characteristics of Waverider

The waverider is widely used in hypersonic vehicles with its high aerodynamic performance, but due to the serious aerothermal environment, sharp leading edge should be blunted. Circular blunt one of commonly characteristic protection methods. larger diameter can reduce peak heat flux, at same time, it will lead drag. existing research shows that under two-dimensions, non-uniform flux by 20%, and difference drag small. In this paper, profile applied three-dimensional waverider, influence on performance studied, results are compared those circular blunt. numerical simulation compare analyze different angles attack, flight altitudes, Mach number. show reduces about 17% a small angle attack range, 2-10, altitude 15–35 km. Meanwhile, when height/diameter 20 mm, between two profiles does not exceed 3% within 15 degrees design waverider.
